INGREDIENTS
- maida (refined flour) – 2.5 cups
- sooji (semolina) – 1/4th cup
- sugar – 1 tsp
- salt – 1/2 tsp
- oil – 1 tbsp
- soda water – 1/2 cup (at room temperature)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Take refined flour in a big bowl.
- Add sooji to it.
- Add oil, salt and sugar to it.
- Mix well all the ingredients.
- Now, using soda water knead the dough.
- The dough should be firm and soft.
- Cover the dough and keep it aside for half and hour.
- Meanwhile heat sufficient oil in a kadhai for deep frying the bhaturas.
- After half and hour knead the dough slightly and divide it into equal size balls.
- Take one ball and roll it into chapati.
- When the oil is hot drop the chapati and fry from both sides till golden brown and puffy.
- Remove on absorbent paper.
- Similarly, fry all the bhaturas.
- Serve them hot with chola.
NOTES
- Soda water should be on room temperature else bhatura will not puff up.
- Quantity of ingredients can be doubled or tripled accordingly.
